Wise Child (Disability and Special Needs) – Personal Safety Training Program

Children with a disability are heavily over represented in child abuse statistics. They are amongst the most vulnerable people in our community and the risk of them being the target of abusive behaviours is extremely high.

The Wise Child – Disability and Special Needs program, educates children and young people to identify situations where they feel safe in order to differentiate when they feel unsafe and know how to seek assistance from trusted people.  Networks of trusted people are developed to ensure there are a range of people that the child feels they can ask for help.

This training is particularly essential for primary schools, specialist services, early intervention programs, camps, childcare services, kindergartens etc. There is also a two day Train the Trainer Workshop for people who wish to teach others how to deliver this program directly to children and young people.

This training program can be delivered on-site or off-site and can be tailored to meet individual needs. For more information, please call Child Wise on (03) 9645 8911 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
