Speak Up’ – Understanding Child Abuse and your Response
Aim of training:
This training aims to provide a greater awareness of child abuse and the prevalence of this epidemic within communities. The training also focuses on how to recognise and manage the behavioural indicators of child abuse in children.
Learning outcomes:
- Child abuse and how to recognise the behavioural indicators of child abuse in your children
- Child sexual abusers and how they can target children and form special relationships with them
- Reporting child abuse; HOW, WHY and WHAT is your responsibility
- Talking to your children about issues of safety aimed at preventing child abuse

- Understanding all forms of child abuse including the dynamics of sex offending
- What are the indicators of abuse?
- Reporting concerns
- What can you do?
- Risk management is child abuse prevention
Who should attend?
This half day training program is delivered to parents, carers, childcare workers and anyone who works with or has contact with children.
